Bidding

Register once. Enter your email and we’ll send a sign-in link. No password. You’ll get a paddle number, and that’s all other bidders ever see. Your name stays private.

Bid your maximum. Enter the most you’re willing to pay. The site bids for you, raising your bid only as much as needed to keep you in the lead, and never past your maximum. Nobody else can see your maximum.

For example: the current bid is $500 and the increment is $25. You enter $800. You become the high bidder at $525. If someone later bids $600, the site answers for you at $625. You only pay more if someone pushes you there.

Increments. Each piece lists its bid increment. The next bid must be at least the current bid plus that amount.

Ties. If two collectors enter the same maximum, whoever entered it first keeps the lead.

Outbid alerts. We email you the moment someone passes your maximum, so you can decide whether to go higher.

No sniping. A bid placed in the last 5 minutes moves that piece’s close to 5 minutes after the bid. Bidding ends when 5 quiet minutes pass.

Buy It Now. Some pieces offer a Buy It Now price. Using it ends bidding on that piece right away.

Bids are commitments. A bid is a promise to buy at that price if you win. If you made a mistake, email us right away at info@tgpr.org.

Winning and payment

A card on file before your first bid. Saving a card isn’t a charge. It’s only used if you win. Your card number goes straight to Stripe and never touches our site.

When you win, we email you right away. 24 hours after bidding closes, we charge everything you won, in one charge, to your card on file.

Prefer to pay by bank? Pay from your bank account during those 24 hours and we won’t charge your card. It saves the rescue card fees, which on a large piece can be over $50. Bank payments take a few business days to clear; your piece stays reserved while they do.

If your card is declined, we’ll email you a link to pay another way. Your piece stays reserved.

Gifts

Not every gift needs an auction. Fund the Pyrs takes gifts at any level from anyone, and winners can add a gift when they pay. Gifts are fully tax-deductible, and you can choose to be listed on the donor wall. Amounts are never shown.

Pickup and shipping

Pick up in San Antonio at a time that suits you. We’ll reach out to schedule after payment.

Prefer shipping? Choose it at checkout. We’ll quote professional, insured shipping to your address, paid by the buyer, before anything leaves our hands.

Taxes and receipts

Every piece lists an estimated fair market value. When you win, you receive the art, so only the amount you pay above that value may be deductible as a charitable contribution.

For example: you win a painting valued at $1,200 with a bid of $2,000. Up to $800 may be deductible.

Gifts, and card fees you choose to cover, are fully deductible. Your receipt email lists the value and the deductible amount for each piece. Please check with your tax advisor about your situation.

Where the money goes

Every piece in this auction was donated by the artist who made it. That means every dollar raised goes to the dogs of Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue.
